The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Moon Phase Retrograde Date 4000V/210A-B911 combines an astronomical complication with one of the Maison’s signature displays, the retrograde date. The 41mm stainless steel case is just 10.48mm thick, giving the Overseas a slim, comfortable profile, and the transparent sapphire caseback shows the movement. Water resistance is 50 metres.
The dial is a sunburst satin-finished blue lacquer, with a satin-finished inner minutes track and a velvet-finished outer track. Two 18k gold moons sit against a starry sky for the precision moon phase, which needs adjusting only once every 122 years. The date is shown by a retrograde hand, and the 18k gold applied hour and minute hands and hour-markers are highlighted with blue SuperLuminova.
Inside is the self-winding Calibre 2460 R31L/2, built from 275 parts with 27 jewels, beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a 40-hour power reserve. The movement carries the Hallmark of Geneva, the standard of quality and craftsmanship the city has upheld since 1886. The Overseas also features a triple folding clasp and a self-interchangeable system, so the steel bracelet can be swapped for a leather or rubber strap in seconds.
