Berneron
Art to Wear — Independent Watchmaking from Neuchâtel
Berneron was founded in Neuchâtel in September 2022 by Sylvain Berneron and Marie-Alix Berneron. Trained in fine arts and industrial design, Sylvain began his career as a designer at BMW before spending five years as a design manager at the Richemont Group and five years as Chief Product Officer at Breitling. Marie-Alix, an architect who previously worked in luxury goods including product development at Chanel Horlogerie, supports the brand's graphics, design and vision.
The brand's first watch, the Mirage, launched in 2023 and is described by Berneron as the first shaped watch to draw its asymmetry from its calibre rather than from an external shape. Guided by the principle "form follows function", its gold case follows the layout of the in-house movement, while the main plate and bridges are crafted in 18k gold. In 2024, the Mirage Sienna won the Audacity Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.
Berneron conceives, develops, manufactures and assembles its timepieces in the Swiss cantons of Neuchâtel and Jura, working closely with local artisans and limiting production to between 24 and 36 pieces per year per model. In 2025 the brand opened a 650 m² facility in Neuchâtel and introduced the Quantième collection with the Quantième Annuel, an annual calendar powered by Calibre 595.
