The F.P. Journe Octa UTC Ref. UTC is a travel watch built on the Octa platform. It shows a second time zone in two ways: a traditional second hour hand, and a graphic of the Earth on a sapphire disc, laser-engraved and hand-painted with a world map and the 24 standard time zones. The map sits in the lower left corner of the dial, and the case is 18k 6N rose gold, a warm metal for a watch designed to be read in unfamiliar places.
The dial is grey, and the hands are blued steel. Along with the world map, the dial carries a large date and a power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock, which descends across several days as the watch runs down.
Inside is the automatic Calibre 1300.3, made in 18k rose gold like every F.P. Journe movement. It winds in one direction and offers a power reserve of around five days (120 hours), with the same case thickness across the Octa range regardless of complication.
