The Mirage, winner of the 2024 GPHG Audacity Prize, is the watch that launched Sylvain Berneron’s independent brand. Its asymmetric case is shaped by the calibre itself: the movement departs from the usual circular layout to house a larger barrel for extended power reserve, and a reversed hand set keeps the case slim. The Prussian Blue edition is named after the pigment historically used by European and Japanese artists, and by Picasso during his Blue Period.
The 38 x 34mm case in 18k white gold measures 42mm lug to lug and only 7mm thick (4.9mm visible height), with a hesalite top crystal, sapphire caseback and 30 metres of water resistance. The dial is solid 18k white gold, and the 18k white gold hands are arranged with the hour hand on top, alongside a direct small seconds.
The proprietary hand-wound Calibre 233 measures 30 x 28 x 2.3mm, with 135 components and 17 jewels. It beats at 21,600 vph with a free-sprung balance and a traditional Swiss lever escapement, delivering 72 hours of power reserve. The 18k gold main plate and bridges are decorated with guillochage, colimaçonnage, a laser-engraved barrel, anglage, traits tirés and nuagé bridge pockets. The case, dial, hands, buckle and spring bars are all 18k gold, and the watch comes on a Barenia leather strap with an 18k white gold buckle.
Production is limited to 24 pieces per year, each with an individual case number, and all components are made in the Swiss cantons of Neuchâtel and Jura.
