Reference MON00310 is the black enamel edition of Romain Gauthier’s platinum Insight Micro-Rotor, one of only 10 pieces made with this dial when the collection launched in 2017. Its 39.5mm x 12.9mm case in 950 platinum is water resistant to 50 metres, with sapphire crystals front and back and a crown at 2 o’clock that frees up space for wrist movement.
The deep oven-fired Grand Feu black enamel dial, made on an 18k gold base, is paired with 18k white gold hands for crisp legibility. Off-centre hours and minutes and a separate small seconds subdial sit above the bespoke balance wheel with curved arms and calibrated eccentric weights, while the platinum model’s rhodium-plated, frosted bridges and palladium-treated movement shine against the dark enamel.
Romain Gauthier’s in-house automatic Insight Micro-Rotor calibre was designed to be highly visible, giving rise to its name. Its 22k gold bidirectional micro-rotor turns fluidly between two ruby-mounted bridges, winding a serially coupled double barrel for an 80-hour power reserve. It beats at 28,800 vph with 33 jewels. The watch is fitted on a hand-stitched alligator leather strap with an 18k white gold pin buckle.
