Unveiled in 2021 under the name Continuum, the C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition One opened a new chapter for the Vallée de Joux manufacture. It is the result of more than 16 years of know-how and was designed to be contemporary, uncluttered, comfortable and ergonomic. Only 28 pieces were made, each engraved “1 of 28” on the back of the movement, making it the rarest of the titanium C editions.
The 41mm x 9.55mm case in natural Grade 5 titanium measures 49.5mm lug to lug and is water resistant to 50 metres. Its geometric bezel is machined round before six facets are cut and polished. The sandblasted natural Grade 5 titanium dial is lifted by subtle red highlights, with three-dimensional gold hands, numerals and indices filled with Super-LumiNova, off-centre hours and minutes and small seconds at 7 o’clock.
Inside is the in-house hand-wound C by Romain Gauthier calibre in Grade 5 titanium, beating at 28,800 vph with a 60-hour power reserve. It introduced the brand’s snail-cam stop-seconds and contemporary stepped finger bridges inspired by Vallée de Joux tradition, all decorated by hand. The watch is worn on a grey rubber strap with a titanium pin buckle.
