The C by Romain Gauthier Platinum Edition MON00550 is the blue-dial version of Romain Gauthier’s precious-metal sports watch from the Heritage collection. Its 41mm x 9.55mm case in solid 950 platinum measures 49.5mm lug to lug and is water resistant to 50 metres. The signature bezel is machined round, then cut into six polished facets that catch the light against satin-finished surfaces.
The matte blue dial is made from 18k white gold and carries three-dimensional gold hands, numerals and indices. Hours and minutes are displayed off-centre, with small seconds at 7 o’clock marked by tapering lines of varying lengths, creating the open, airy “continuity” design unique to this collection.
The in-house hand-wound C by Romain Gauthier calibre is executed with 18k white gold plates and bridges and decorated entirely by hand with polished bevels, hand-frosting and the dimpled “boucharder” engraving. It beats at 28,800 vph with 24 jewels, offers around 60 hours of power reserve and features Romain Gauthier’s snail-cam stop-seconds. A rubber strap with platinum pin buckle completes the watch.
