The C by Romain Gauthier Carbonium® Edition takes Romain Gauthier’s modern sports watch in its most technical direction yet. The case, crown and pin buckle are made from Carbonium®, a high-performance carbon-fibre composite, and the 41.5mm x 9.6mm case weighs just 43 grams including strap and buckle. The six-facet bezel combines matte and satin finishes, while sapphire crystals front and back reveal the movement from both sides.
The partially openwork sapphire dial carries a Carbonium® pattern and opens onto the seconds wheel and escapement line. Three-dimensional titanium hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, and the white indices and numerals are made entirely of Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility. Hours and minutes sit off-centre with small seconds at 7 o’clock, framed by the tapered “vanishing point” lines that define every C by Romain Gauthier dial.
Inside is the in-house, hand-wound C by Romain Gauthier calibre in Grade 5 titanium with Carbonium® inserts, built from 165 components and offering a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. Its stop-seconds system uses Romain Gauthier’s signature snail cam, and the bridges are hand-finished with double bevels, straight-grained raised borders and a hand-engraved “boucharder” texture. The watch is fitted on a Carbonium®-textured rubber strap with a Carbonium® pin buckle.
